  • Our team dedicates itself to spreading awareness on the benefits of fungi from adaptogenic to psychedelic. We collaborate with mycologists, psychologist and mycroremediation projects to share this knowledge with our community.

  • Myceliumatters events spread awareness on everyday mushroom products, introducing mushroom brands to a wide audience of people who have yet to explore the market. We education on the benefits and advocate for adoption of healthier option and habits.

  • Mycoworkshops consist of hands on mushroom cultivation, mycomaterial and mycoremediation workshops with our talented team of educators.


Los Angeles established organization “Myceliumatters” was founded May 2022 by a team of mycophiles passionate to educate people on all the applications of fungi. By connecting people to the myco community through events, we provide high quality mycological education and workshops to communities, Creating a mycophilic world that can inspire others to dive deeper into the mycoverse.

Meet the Team

  • Aixarret Hernandez

    FOUNDER

    Behavioral Therapist and Eco psychology researcher. Aixa focuses her study on psilocybin’s ability to open nature related personality traits which can allow people to adopt different perspectives on nature, becoming more eco conscious and environmentally aware. Aixa is also researching how psilocybin can be used as an effective treatment for headache disorders.

    She is lead educator on the team, educating others on fungal biotechnology, mushroom cultivation and psilocybin legality & research.

  • Omar Othman

    BOARD DIRECTOR

    Founder of the first mushroom hub “Culture shrooms” in Long Beach, CA. The mushroom lover launched the first ever adaptogenic mushroom cold brew coffee & fruitstrips, spreading the awareness on mushroom benefits throughout the U.S. Focusing on ecopsychology with a specialization in stacking protocols of functional mushrooms. Omar is also on boards for various psychedelic clinical trial and non profits.

  • Maximilian Esparza

    FOUNDER

    With three years of experience in the hemp industry, Max has learned a lot about the boundless benefits of integrating plant medicine into life for improved health & wellness. More specifically, over the last year he has become aware and educated on the human and environmental benefits mycelium provides. His focus is to bring this awareness to underprivileged and underserved communities and to create initiatives through Myceliumatters that will facilitate the resources and education to do so.

  • Justin Wallace

    The Builder 

    In 2020, Justin founded Twisted Tree Nursery and introduced DinoSoil, a unique mushroom growing substrate from Southern California. Each purchase supports tortoise rescue efforts, turning nutrient-rich tortoise dung into an innovative growing medium for Mushrooms. With 4+ years in the mycology industry he provides many avenues for community building, animal rescue efforts & non-profit events within the mycology & Veteran communities. Under Justin's leadership, Twisted Tree Nursery has become a cornerstone for commercial cultivators and home growers, promoting a sustainable future for all.

  • Melissa Wallace

    Community Builder

    Melissa, co-founder of Twisted Tree Nursery alongside her husband Justin, has been a driving force in the mycology community for over four years. She has taken the reins in marketing and community engagement, transforming Twisted Tree into a vibrant hub for local growers and enthusiasts.

    Her passion lies in the healing aspect of the mycology community, finding avenues for companies and consumers alike to find their tribe, grow, and heal together. Under Melissa's leadership, Twisted Tree has become a cornerstone in the mycology industry, fostering a strong, sustainable community and paving the way for future growth and collaboration.
